In this recent project, we set up localization for 11+ languages for a game called PaperPlanes. We translated around 3,000 words per language.
Using unreal engine 5 and its latest Niagara particle effects system our team has created a planet sized particle effect that is customizable during run-time, for example ("Colour and speed") can be changed.
During the development of the particle effect, planning was paramount to assuring that our client received the desired end result.
Attached is the sketch / concept that our team had to work with. The red point / marker is interchangeable and uses a static mesh
as its visual representative for the 3d geometry, making the particle very quick and adaptive for different uses.
Keeping performance at our at most important deliverable we were able to create a particle that can now be used
in-game many times over and over again without any notice performance drops within reason, for the amount placed.
